Three generations on the Guadalupe

Ed Kowalski started renting inner tubes out of a gravel lot in 1987 with a school bus he bought at a county auction. Today his daughter Dana runs the operation with her own kids working summers — same lot, a few more buses, and about 40,000 floaters a year.

We're not the biggest outfitter on River Road and that's on purpose. One location, one stretch of river we know cold, and staff who can tell you exactly which crossing to take out at when the flow hits 300 CFS.

  • Licensed TPWD outfitter, insured up to $2M
  • Lifejackets free with every rental — kids wear them, no exceptions
  • Daily river reports posted at the outpost and on our News page
  • Military & first responder discount, 15% weekdays

We've floated with the big outfitters down the road and honestly the difference is the staff. The bus driver waited an extra ten minutes for our stragglers and nobody made us feel bad about it.

Google review — June 2026

Brought 60 kids from our church camp. Dana had us in the water 40 minutes after the buses parked, which anyone who's moved 60 teenagers knows is a miracle.

Tube was patched in one spot and they swapped it without me asking when I pointed it out. River was low in August so ask about conditions before you drive out — they'll tell you straight.
